This year for New Year's we were at home by ourselves. Jeremy's parents were supposed to come out, but unfortunately our nephew, that was going to come with them, got the flu and they couldn't make it. So, we made the best of it and had a special New Year's with just he 2 of us. I busted out our never-before-used china, made a fancy cheese tray (tried to make it like the fancy restaurant that we ate at on our honeymoon), had Caesar salad and made meat and spinach manicotti and garlic mashed potatoes. We topped that off with banana caramel pie. It was yummy! We watched movies (I know it's hard to believe, but I had never seen "It' a Wonderful Life" so we watched that) and saw the ball drop. It was great to be at home and just relax. Here's to a wonderful new year!
Sounds nice! It was weird to be on our own for New Year's this year...It's the first year I went to bed before midnight since I was a kid...and it was great. :) Perhaps we should make Labor Day or Memorial Day our new holiday! :) Something where we can go to bed early! haha
