Snow Day #2

Today we had our second snow day of the year. I think this one was actually a little more valid. We got ice, sleet, freezing rain and finally some snow. We had a wonderful, relaxing day. We ate pancakes, watched tv, Jeremy played Wii, I cleaned out a closet and made a project for church. Jeremy also made dinner. :) Here's a few pictures from our day:
Jeremy and Piper watching TV.

A church project I made today. The kids are raising money for St. Jude's. It's called Kids Helping Kids and was the ideas of one of the 6 year olds. So this is the big jug at church for collecting coins.

{Jan 29: Just One More Game...}

I frequently hear this, "Just one more game." I got Jeremy a game he requested, Modern Warfare, for Christmas and he loves it! I have to give him a hard time about it!

{Jan 28: Anticipation}

Jeremy made muffins and Piper thought that surely some were for her. She just sat on the rug and waited patiently. Of course she also let out the occassional whine, too!

{Jan 27: You Might Live in Arkansas...}

...when seeing this is totally normal!
This is one of my students that came to school today with his hair like this. I couldn't show his face since this isn't set to private, but I think you can get the picture!

{Jan 26: Project Life}

I am so excited that my project life package came! If you're wondering what Project Life is, you can learn about it here:
I'm excited because as much as I used to love scrapbooking, I'm unwilling to spend the time and money that it takes anymore. Plus, I'm SO behind, there's no way I could ever catch up. So, my plan is to start with this year with the Project Life Kit. I haven't decided if I'm doing the picture a day thing or a monthly overview. I'm also thinking that I'm going to try and go back and do last year in the digital version they offer and see if I can kind of catch back up. At least from the time that Jeremy and I met. Anyway, the product is amazing. Great quality and so cute! I can't wait to start!

{Jan 16: One Resolution Worth Keeping}

I am resolved to read through my Bible this year. I've done great so far. I've decided to double up every day so I get through the Bible 2 times this year. It's really been a blessing this year! It's not too late to catch up if you haven't started this year. I would encourage everyone to be in the Word every day!
Btw, this is the Bible that Jeremy proposed to me with. He wrote a letter to me on the inside asking me to marry him and my new name was engraved on the front. :)

A few of our house

Here are some pictures of our house. These are for you, Ash. :)

The family room. Don't you love our green carpet! ;)

The Myers sign is made by Andrea Steed. She was my matron of honor and gave it to us as a wedding present. We love it! You can check out her signs here:

Our bedroom. The painting above the bed was done by the fabulous and talented Jeremy Sigle. He was in our wedding and painted it as a wedding gift. You can see his work here:

{Jan 15: $200...really?}

Here was my Friday...
1) Get up at 6:00, leave the house at 7:15, drive to Perryville, 30 minutes away.
2) Teach all day to out of control kiddos (totally out of the ordinary for my group)
3) Leave school at 3:30 and drive 40 minutes to Russellville
4) Go to Kroger, Walgreens, IIIs Company (a newfound fun store) Walmart, back to Walgreens and back to Walmart for something I forgot
5) Drive 30 minutes and arrive home at 7:30.
So, $200 dollars later...seriously, how are groceries that much?...and totally exhausted, that was my Friday.

{Jan 14: Glasses On}

Ask Jeremy, my parents or any of my roommates and they'll tell you that I frequently fall asleep with my glasses on. I'm usually watching TV, which gently lulls me to sleep. This also explains why my glasses need frequent adjustments! Jeremy snapped this picture of me after I fell asleep.

{Jan 13: To Do...}

So, these are the Christmas presents that sit in our living room, waiting to be mailed to my in-laws. I realize it's Jan 13 and Christmas was last month, but it's not like I haven't tried. In my defense Don, Judy and Jordon were going to come for New Year's and we were going to celebrate Christmas then. But, Jordon got sick and plans changed. So, I got a box to mail the presents. It was too small. Keep in mind that we live in the middle of no-where and we are 30 minutes from the store, so the next time I went to town, I got another box and packing tape. Somehow the packing tape didn't make it home, ugh! Now I FINALLY have all the necessary pieces to mail these presents. They're on their way soon, Don and Judy and it looks like Pipey wants to come visit you! Sorry for the delay!

{Jan 12: Emotional Eating}

So what do I do after a stressful day at work? Reach for some Lays and French Onion dip, of course! I always have (and sadly, probably always will be) an emotional eater. That bag of potato chips is like an old friend.

Photo Wall...as requested

Here's pictures of the photo wall in our house, as Andrea requested. I realized a few of them need to straightened up. Ash, I'll try and get some pictures of the house in a few days for you!

{Jan 8: My Claire}

Today I stood in my kitchen and cried when I opened my mail. No, it wasn't a bill or bad news. It was the most wonderful surprise. One of my former students from Rochester, Minnesota sent me a card and pictures in the mail. Claire was one of the students in my Early Childhood Special Education class. She was and always will be one of my favorite kids ever. Claire was born with Down Syndrome, but she hasn't let that stop her. As I stood with tears running down my cheeks, I remembered back to the days when we worked so hard on making the C and L in her name and now she is writing sentences and paragraphs! I still can't believe that Claire is in 3rd grade, almost 10 years old. For any difference I made in Claire's life, she made ten times the impact on mine. She is a beautiful girl inside and out and no matter how old, she will always be "My Claire".

New Year's 2010

This year for New Year's we were at home by ourselves. Jeremy's parents were supposed to come out, but unfortunately our nephew, that was going to come with them, got the flu and they couldn't make it. So, we made the best of it and had a special New Year's with just he 2 of us. I busted out our never-before-used china, made a fancy cheese tray (tried to make it like the fancy restaurant that we ate at on our honeymoon), had Caesar salad and made meat and spinach manicotti and garlic mashed potatoes. We topped that off with banana caramel pie. It was yummy! We watched movies (I know it's hard to believe, but I had never seen "It' a Wonderful Life" so we watched that) and saw the ball drop. It was great to be at home and just relax. Here's to a wonderful new year!

Our Christmas Decorations

I realize this is quite delayed, but I thought I would post the decorations from our house this year. I had fun decorating a different house. I love Christmas!
